On Saturday, September 14, Maya Angelou will speak at UNCG as part of the University Performing Arts Series. Dr. Angelou will read from a selection of her literary work and speak to the UNCG community about her extraordinary life. The evening will also include performances by UNCG School of Music, Theatre, and Dance faculty, alumni, and students.
Maya Angelou lived in Winston-Salem and taught at Wake Forest University. She is a recipient of the North Carolina Award, which recognizes achievement by North Carolinians in the fields of literature, science, fine arts, and public service.
