Nicholas Sparks Coming to the Small Screen
Over the past few years North Carolina author Nicholas Sparks has had phenomenal success adapting his novels to the big screen. Now Nicholas Sparks Prods. is pushing for the small screen. The company has sold three projects to different TV networks, and one project has been picked up by Lifetime. The new original story, Deliverance, has begun filming a pilot in Austin, Texas. Sparks has flown to Texas with his wife to watch the filming while tweeting his trip.

North Carolina author Jill McCorkle will be visiting UNCG on Tuesday, October 29th. She will read from her new book Life After Life and sign copies of her books, which will be for sale. The event will take place in the Virginia Dare Room at the Alumni House, between 4:00pm and 5:30pm.

Banned books week celebrates frequently challenged reading materials and encourages readers to broaden their horizons. The North Carolina Literary Map celebrates banned book week with a list of banned books written by North Carolina authors.
